The Health Ninja is a profit with purpose company, started by South African Youth in the fight to alleviate unemployment, poverty, malnutrition and the lack of education in South Africa. THN aims to train unemployed youth to become leaders in healthcare and wellness in the community. The cadre of trained youth, to be known as “Health Ninjas” will become ambassadors in the community and use their training to create more “Health Ninjas”, fighting against communicable and non-communicable diseases. It is envisaged that the youth of today will become role-models for children and adults on how to become “active participants in healthcare rather than recipients of health”. The “Health Ninjas” will receive training and empowerment and will be involved in advocacy, training and mentorship of other South African youth.
